Standing in someone elses shoes

It's an old adage meaning that we should look at things from the other guy's point of view.
We often make decisions depending on our circumstances rather than a rational appraisal of the situation.
Even in business the majority of decisions made are born out of an element of emotion.
This cuts both ways. It's important for us to realise that we ourselves behave this way, so lets 'count to ten' and have another look to make sure that we're making the best move we can. Others behave this way too, of course, so we can't expect people we deal with in business or in our personal lives to make completely rational decisions (any more than we do).

Expect the unexpected. Try and see the situation from the other guys point of view. What's happening in his world? How is he feeling?

Relationships are what the world is all about.

We must nurture them and treat decision making seriously when it effects lives and businesses.
